The Cloud-Realm of The Azanam, commonly referred to as the Azanam, is the southernmost nation in all of Magnamund.
History[]
The Azanam is a hostile and inaccessible forest. Its native population were the Kazan Islanders who fought many wars between their tribes. Eventually, one tribe became dominant, slaughtering and ritually-consuming the other tribes after battle. With the rise of Agarash, however, his evil unleashed mutants all over Southern Magnamund, and the Azanam was not spared, eventually wiping out the Kazan Islanders.[3] The Kundi arrived around the time of Agarash, but after the destruction of the Kazan Islanders, and survived by living high in the trees and performing a special kind of natural magic.[3]
The Shianti had a presence in Azanam.[4]
In MS 4663, following the destruction of Lara, the remnants of the Kundi Tribe there fled to the Azanam and rejoined the rest of their race.[2][3]
Geography[]
The Azanam is the southern-most nation in Magnamund. It lies south of the Isle of Lorn, Suhn and Karnali. Across the Sea of Dreams lies Forlu.
It is inhabited by the Kundi and by beasts known as the Cave Mantiz.[5]
Politics[]
Azanam appears to be a monarchy, although no further details are known. The ruler as of MS 5050 is King Okosa.[1]
Culture[]
Azawood has mystical properties. It is able to keep Deathgaunts at bay.[6]
