Cailek, dubbed The Conqueror of Skaror, was a legendary Drakkar warrior. He was raised as an undead in MS 5103, to serve Archlord Vashna.

Biography[]

Cailek was a Drakkar warrior who conquered the Agarashi of Skaror some time after the Drakkarim arrived on Magnamund in MS 2650.

In the fehangor of MS 5103, during the events of The Dusk of Eternal Night, Agarash returned to Magnamund thanks to the Naarvakim. In response, the Skarorian Horde rose to join him, and attacked the Drakkarim who occupied their ancestral lands. The Horde was joined by local Agarashi and Ogian Terrormen, enslaved by the Drakkarim. With the Drakkarim recovering from the death of Warlord Golzaarn, the Agarashi overwhelmed them, with only the Drakkarim of Ghatan, shielded by the fortress of Torgar, able to withstand them.[2]

In the hestangor of the same year, earthquakes tore open the Ogshezar Chasm and joined it to the Maakengorge, allowing the Nengud-kor-Adez to pour inside and consume the Skarorian Horde there. Archlord Vashna then appeared in Skaror, and summoned Cailek as an undead warrior. Cailek did so, casting aside his fealty to Zantaz, and Vashna appointed him Gudjagoknar, high general of the South. The Drakkarim of Skaror, Ogia and the Hammerlands flocked to Cailek's call, forming the second Orgar Zand, the army of the south, which was defeated by King Sarnac IV of Lencia in MS 5101.[1]

The Orgaz Zand fought the Skarorian Horde and was finally forced to yield to Cailek and Vashna. The mightiest of the Orgaz Zand were anointed as Vashna's Heldajdok-odokar, the Archlord's personal Death Knight guard.[1]

In the kaltangor of that year, a chasm tore through Kagorst to Akagazad, and the Nengud-kor-Adez flooded inside. Vashna appeared from its depths, and with Cailek by his side, summoned the Drakkarim rulers of Zaldir, Nyvoz and Ghatan. Under Cailek's Orgar Zand, the Drakkarim of Zaldir formed the new Orgar Tozaz, the Drakkarim of Ghatan the Orgar Dej, and the Drakkarim of Akagazad and the Darklands the Orgar Aztar. Warlord Hurdaaniggi of Nadgazad was named War Marshal, the supreme commander of all Drakkarim legions.[3][note 1]

Under Cailek, the Orgar Zand invaded Bor via the Hammerlands in MS 5104, which was already under siege from the Danarg Horde from the west, and the Nengud-kor-Adez, which had appeared underground there. Fort Baihil fell, and the defenderes were forced to collapse the Statar Tunnel, sealing off the northern approach.[4][5] Towards the end of the year, the Borese stubbornly held out against all the invaders, and Vashna called Cailek and the Orgar Zand away to help in the Stornlands.[6] The Orgar Zand served Luthos Vorgada of Magador in his invasion of Palmyrion, but was stopped by a Freelands coalition of Palmyrion, Talestria, Lencia, Bor and Ilion, as well as Lone Wolf himself, in the Battle Plain north of Holona. Lone Wolf's arrival caused the Magadorians to retreat, and Vorgada fled under the cover of the Nengud-kor-Adez when challenged to single combat by Lone Wolf. The Orgar Zand then retreated to Eldenora to recover.[7]

Notes[]

  1. In calling these armies subordinate ("under") the Orgar Zand, this may have been a typographical error in The New Age of War. In Magnamund Menagerie (page 33), the Drakkarim army was organised into three armies: The Orgar Aztar (North Army, based in Akagazad), the Orgar Dej (East Army, based in Kagorst) and Orgar Zand (South Army, used for invasion but based in Nyras when not). Each army is led by a Gudjagoknar (army general) and is subservient to the War Marshal. This structure is at odds with the other armies being subservient to the Orgar Zand, and would imply that Warlord Hurdaaniggi would only have Cailek as his sole subordinate at that time.
