Cartwheel is a gambling game that can be played in a gaming-house in Ragadorn. Lone Wolf can play this game in order to acquire 20 Gold Crowns to buy a boat ticket to Durenor, during the events of Fire on the Water.[1] Although 20 Gold Crowns are required for the ticket, 22 Gold Crowns is the actual requirement to arrive safely.

Mechanics[]

Cartwheel is played with a dish that is divided into ten sections labeled 0-9. The dish is then spun. As the dish is spinning, a silver ball is dropped into it and bets are placed on what section the ball will come to rest in when the dish stops spinning.

To play Cartwheel, the player must first decide the number they would like to bet on and how many Gold Crowns to stake. If a Random Number Table pick gives exactly the same number, the player wins 8 Gold Crowns for every 1 Gold Crown that gambled. If the number picked is immediately before or after the correct choice, 5 Gold Crowns are won for every 1 Gold Crown that staked (note that 0 sits between 9 and 1 in Cartwheel). There is a limit to how much you can win on this table: 40 Gold Crowns.

When entering the gaming-house for the first time you will receive 1 silver token that can be used in place of Gold Crown. It has no value outside the gaming-house.

Cartwheel heavily favors the player. This game will, on average, payout 1.1 Gold Crowns for every 1 Gold Crown staked. As long as you have at least 7 Gold Crowns (the silver token is included if you have it) and only stake 1 Gold Crown per round, the odds are heavily in your favor that you will leave the gaming-house with the 40 Gold Crown cap.
