After the First Order of the Kai are nearly wiped by the Darklords of Helgedad in MS 5050, Lone Wolf, the last surviving Kai warrior, rebuilt and restored the Monastery of the Kai in MS 5070. The second generation of the Kai are then trained and called the New Order of the Kai. Within the short space of two years, the first raw recruits had graduated to become a cadre of gift Kai Masters who, in turn, were able to commence the teaching of their skills to subsequent intakes of Kai novices.
MS 5077, in the absence of Lone Wolf, Dark God Naar sent forth a host of dragon-creatures to destroy the New Order of the Kai. The New Order of the Kai fought bravely and held the defence. The siege was broken by the returning of Lone Wolf and the King's Army of Sommerlund. Naar's evil plan was thwarted with the destruction of the Shadow Gate by Lone Wolf.
In the beginning of the gamebook, Voyage of the Moonstone, one of the first five Kai Grand Masters from the New Order of the Kai, is instructed by Lone Wolf, then Kai Supreme Master, to return the Moonstone back to the hands of the Shianti in MS 5083.
