This is the Sword of Captain Remir D'Val. It is a standard weapon of the Sommlending cavalry and doesn't have any special properties. Lone Wolf can acquire the sword early in The Chasm of Doom, and return it to D'Val later in the book. However, there is no advantage gained except for his thanks.
Unusually for a unique weapon, it is treated as a Weapon, not a Special Item.
