Darklord Dakushna (died MS 5070) was a Darklord and Lord of Kagorst and Ghatan.
Appearance[]
Dakushna was a massive, red-skinned human with wild hair, burning crimson eyes and a disproportionate right hand.[1]
Personality[]
Dakushna was one of the more powerful Darklords, although this was due to his possession of the Nyras Sceptre, even more so since it contained a Doomstone, stolen from Archlord Zagarna. Dakushna's actual power without it was of limited merit, but such was the power of the Nyras Sceptre, few could challenge his might. However, it is unknown how Dakushna obtained the Doomstone, leading to a belief that Dakushna was controlled by a greater power, and some believed that Zagarna feared the Doomstone. This power also meant he was influential amongst the Nadziranim, although it was believed that they truly coveted the Nyras Sceptre, feigning obedience to Dakushna.[1]
He was also considered the most treacherous Darklord by the Drakkarim.[1]
Biography[]
Dakushna arrived on Magnamund with his fellow Darklords in MS 3072. He was initially dispatched by Archlord Vashna to repel an invasion by the Ice Demons of Kalte to the north, and led the North Army in fortifying it against future attacks. However, no further attacks arrived, and Dakushna set out to investigate Kalte. He made contact with the Ice Demons, and successfully brought the two together in an alliance.[1] Impressed, Vashna sent Dakushna to perform similar acts of diplomacy with the Drakkarim to the south, a task that Darklord Gnaag had previously disappointed in.[4] Dakushna had the fortress of Kagorst rebuilt by Swamp Giak slaves, and became the ruler of Nyvoz and Ghatan in MS 3152. It is not stated what form of diplomacy was employed by Dakushna, but the Drakkarim considered him to be the most treacherous Darklord, who feared him because of this, and the fact that he controlled the mint of Kagorst, which minted Kika, giving him control over the Drakkarim economy.[1]
After the fall of Archlord Vashna in the Battle of Maakengorge, Darklord Zagarna eventually gained control over his fellow Darklords and became the next Archlord after retrieving the Doomstones. It was, however, rumoured that Zagarna feared their power. Dakushna, already possessing the Nyras Scepter, one of the deadliest weapons in the Darklands, was somehow able to steal a Doomstone from Zagarna, and combine the two artifacts, creating an immensely powerful weapon that few could match. Due to the unknown circumstances on how this was possible, it was believed that Dakushna was controlled by a higher power. Regardless of the circumstances, it meant that Dakushna was one of the strongest candidates to replace Zagarna after his fall in the Siege of Holmgard in MS 5055, during the events of Shadow on the Sand.[1] However, Dakushna did not become the next Archlord, which was won by Darklord Haakon.
In MS 5064, aided by the Tanoz-tukor that allowed the Darklords to operate freely outside of the Darklands, Darklords Dakushna and Tomogh invaded the Hammerlands, forcing their way into the western tunnels of Bor, but were repelled by the bravery of Bo'sun Nolrim and Captain Prarg. The two Darklords instead turned their attention east to western Eru.[5] In MS 5066, Darklords Menashga and Tomogh finally conquered Eru.[6]
Some time between MS 5067 and MS 5070, Dakushna destroyed the Lencian fleet in the Gulf of Lencia, while Darklord Ghanesh led the land invasion of Lencia. This marked the Darklands' first invasion of Southern Magnamund. The invasion was further aided by traitors within Lencia, many of them mages promised power by the Darklords. The two Darklords entered the Crusaders' Rest, a massive graveyard containing dead Lencian crusaders, and rose them from the dead. The combined forces began razing the Lencian coast. King Sarnac, believed to have perished in Bor, emerged from hiding and challenged Ghanesh to mortal combat. At the place of the duel, King Sarnac fled into a tunnel, attempting to lure Ghanesh into a trap. Deep underground in the tunnels of Bor, Captain Prarg and his Borese allies used boom powder to collapse the tunnel on top of Ghanesh — not killing the Darklord, but buying Lencia time to rally its forces.[7]
Dakushna died in MS 5070, after Lone Wolf destroyed the Transfusor, causing the Tanoz-tukor to stop working, meaning he could not survive for long outside of the Darklands. For his failure, his spirit was trapped and tortured in the Plain of Despair by Naar.[8]

Vincent Lazzari on Discord regarding the fate of the Darklords."I can assure you that this specific scene in LW20, in the Plain of Despair, did not feature all the villains Lone Wolf canonically slew during his adventures. Simply because there are too many spirits who were specifically punished by Naar for their failures, Lone Wolf couldn't see all of them. And so, among them, you do have Darklord Zagarna, even if not mentioned. As well as the other Darklords that Lone Wolf didn't know personally (considering Claws of Helgedad is not canon in the main continuity). All were judged supreme failures by Naar and punished the same way - this is the fate of the champions of Darkness who don't succeed in their conquests. You can think about all the major servants of the God Naar slain by Lone Wolf - they are here, somewhere in the Plain of Despair, suffering terrible tortures. Cadak was a notable exception, his soul being sold and bound to the Lords of Decay."
