This Discipline enables a New Order Grand Master to manipulate the four basic elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. By drawing upon individual elements that are available, or combinations thereof, he is able to detach, affix, increase, concentrate, intensify, remove, or accelerate this matter to fulfill a specific purpose, e.g. create a wall, hurl a rock, spray sand, remove air, intensify fire. The versatility of this Discipline increases as a New Order Grand Master advances in rank.
Improved Grand Master Discipline[]
- Kai Grand Master Superiors (6 disciplines) who possess this skill are able to condense pure water out of the surrounding air. This water can be made to fall as a fine spray or as a sudden deluge. It can also be made to fill any suitable container or receptacle. Using this skill, Grand Master Superiors can create the equivalent of one large bucketful of fresh water.
- Kai Grand Sentinels (7 disciplines) who possess this skill are able to charge particles of air electrically around any man-sized or smaller object. The particles will automatically discharge and cause damage should the affected object be touched or opened. Kai Grand Sentinels are able to handle a charged object without discharging it.
- Kai Grand Defenders (8 disciplines) are able to summon up a dense, misty vapour to obscure themselves from both normal vision and infravision (night sight). This mist will occur within 5 feet (2 metres) of the Kai Grand Defender and will last for three to five minutes. Range and duration increase as a Grand Master rises in rank.
- Kai Grand Guardians (9 disciplines) are able to protect themselves from the effects of storm-force winds by creating a sphere of calm air around their bodies. Initially this protective bubble lasts for one minute, but duration steadily increases as a Grand Master ascends in Kai rank.
- Sun Thanes (12 disciplines) are able to accelerate greatly the oxidation (rusting) of ferrous metals simply by touch alone. The longer the metallic item is touched, the more damaging will be the effect.
- Sun Princes (15 disciplines) can alter the crystalline fabric of minerals and metals they touch to turn them into chemically constant but distinct forms (e.g graphite to diamond) or to increase / diminish some of their physical properties (hardness, oxidisability). A Sun Prince can weaken the metal armor of a foe during combat, reducing the foes statistics accordingly after the first round of combat. However, Kagonite and all of its alloys including Black Steel cannot be affected in this way by a Sun Prince.
Usage[]
Elementalism is quite a strong discipline. As one can see from the description, it is very versatile. For example, Elementalism could allow Grand Master to create a gust of wind that deflects an arrow, thus duplicating Kai-alchemy and Magi-Magic's Invisible Shield and Shield spells as well as substituting for Grand Huntmastery's bonus to dodge the arrow. It is seldom the only discipline that helps, but it is checked for quite often.
