Lone Wolf

Endurance (or Endurance points, commonly-abbreviated EP) are a measure of how much "life" a character or being has left. When a creature has 0 Endurance points, they are considered dead (or in the case of undead creatures, destroyed or vanquished in some way).

Player characters such as Lone Wolf also possess Endurance. Their base and current values can change during the books, whether during combat or certain events that injure or heal them. Certain Backpack Items and Special Items can also do so, such as Laumspur. The current Endurance is capped at the base value.

Player characters[]

Player characters have a base Endurance rolled at the start of their first adventure. This is as follows:

  • Lone Wolf
    • Kai series: Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 20.
    • Magnakai series: Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 20.
      • Veteran players carrying over a character from the Kai series may also carry over their attributes.
    • Grand Master series: Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 30. For every Grand Master adventure completed, gain 2 bonus Endurance points for the next adventure.
      • Veteran players carrying over a character from the Magnakai series may also carry over their attributes; however, as detailed in the Project Aon Reader's Handbook, this may have issues, and there may be other recommendations.[1][note 1]
  • Grand Master (New Order series): Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 30.
  • Grey Star: Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 20.
  • The Huntress: TBA
  • Autumn Snow: Pick a number from the Random Number Table and add 20.

Enemies[]

Enemies also have Endurance points. As players progress through a book and across books, enemies typically have higher Endurance points, reflecting higher difficulty levels.

Some enemies have particularly high Endurance points:

Raising and lowering Endurance[]

Raising Endurance:[]

It is possible for the player character to raise their maximum Endurance score with certain armor items:

And for Grand Master : Nyxator Mails (+10 EP).

Lowering Endurance[]

It is also possible for the player character to suffer a permanent loss in Endurance:

  • Helshezag costs 1 EP to use every round past the first
  • Adgana costs 4 EP permanently if one is addicted after its use (20% chance)

Notes[]

  1. In the Handbook, Project Aon suggests that the reader may carry over their Magnakai statistics over. However, this can be problematic:
    • Not all veteran players started from the very first book, Flight from the Dark, and would not have had the chance to obtain all the items to increase their base attributes to make up for the higher base attributes in the Grand Master series.
    • Some veteran players may have suffered permanent damage to their attributes, e.g. from prolonged use of the Helshezag.
    • On the flip-side, it is also possible for veteran players to have base attributes far in excess of new characters.
In other words, it may actually be fairer for veteran characters to consider the following:
    • Carry over the Magnakai attributes anyway
    • Carry over the Magnakai attributes but apply the Lore-circle bonuses (+5 Combat Skill, +11 Endurance)
    • Reroll attributes
    • Carry over the Magnakai attributes but add +10 to Combat Skill and +15 to Endurance (reflecting the higher initial base values)
