Ghatan is a country in Northern Magnamund. It is controlled by the Drakkarim, and allied with the Darklands. Its capital is Torgar.
History[]
During the time of the Agarashi Empire, Ghatan was infested with Agarashi. It was settled upon by the Drakkarim in MS 2801, who constructed the fortress of Torgar to imprison and torture their enemies. During MS 3150, the Drakkarim subjected themselves to the Darklords, and rulership fell to Darklord Dakushna.[1]
During the time of the Darklords, Torgar was used as a link between the Darklands and other Drakkarim lands such as the Hammerlands and Skaror. Its wastes, particularly those close to the Hellswamp in the south-west, were also useful for the Drakkarim and other Darklands forces to train without revealing themselves to their enemies.[3]
Some Doomwolves, bred in Helgedad in MS 3400, escaped the Darklands, and escaped into places such as the Nadulritzaga Mountains of Ghatan and the Ogshezar Mountains of Northern Skaror. These Doomwolves interbred with common wolves and became a smaller sub-species of Doomwolf, called the Shegamaz, meaning "Dog-Wolf" in Giak.[4]
Geography[]
Bordered by the Hellswamp to the south, little grows in Ghatan, save twisted trees.[1] Its other bordering countries are the Darklands to the north, demarcated by the Kokozritzaga Mountains and Zandzordak Mountains; the Hammerlands to the south; and Skaror to the east.
Politics[]
Ghatan is a Drakkarim nation, and generally ruled by force, by a warlord. During the time of the Darklords, the Drakkarim submitted to them, and their ruler became Darklord Dakushna.[1]

Ghatan's population was 25,000 in MS 5050.[1]
