Darklord Ghurch (died MS 5058) was a Darklord and Lord of Ghargon.
Appearance[]
Ghurch was a powerful, muscular creature. He had a huge motted orange and red head, with an orange mane. His eyes burned blue and he had a lamprey-like mouth filled with teeth. Spikes adorned his back. He was nearly Zagarna's equal in physical terms.[1]
Personality[]
Ghurch was a simple-minded creature. He was extremely savage and violent, and until MS 5000, had little interest in the political intrigue that his fellow Darklords engaged in, nor much interest in seeking a higher position in the hierarchy of the Darklords, and was content to inflict pain and suffering. He was satisfied with having to deal with the hordes of Tadatizaga that invaded his domain of Ghargon, occasionally paying interest in the fights organised by Darklord Khatellu in the Blood Ward of Helgedad, sometimes even participating in them to tear apart a gladiator that had become too confident.[1] He was unusual in that he was an ally of Khatellu, whilst offering the weak Mrugor, Khatellu's rival, a degree of respect, possibly because of Mrugor's ability to kill efficiently. This may have become an official alliance later on in both Darklords' lives.[2]
Fitting his personality, Ghurch mainly attacked by clawing and biting. He could drain blood with his bites.[1]
Biography[]
Ghurch arrived on Magnamund with his fellow Darklords in MS 3072, and became Lord of Ghargon by the time Zagarna became Archlord.
Around MS 5000, Darklord Gnaag, whom Ghurch considered to be a vassal (due to the proximity of their realms, as well as Gnaag's seeming weakness), convinced Ghurch that he could play a greater role in the command of the Darklands. This led to Ghurch spending more time in Helgedad, and neglecting Ghargon.[1]
In MS 5058, after Haakon's death at the hands of Lone Wolf, Darklords Unc and Ghurch both declared themselves to be his successor as Archlord, with the other Darklords falling behind one of the two, sparking a fierce civil war between the two factions. However, this was orchestrated by Gnaag in secret, and at the height of the civil war, he destroyed both Unc and Ghurch in a colossal show of power, cementing himself as the next Archlord.[3][1] Ghurch's spirit was trapped and tortured in the Plain of Despair by Naar.[4]

Vincent Lazzari on Discord regarding the fate of the Darklords."I can assure you that this specific scene in LW20, in the Plain of Despair, did not feature all the villains Lone Wolf canonically slew during his adventures. Simply because there are too many spirits who were specifically punished by Naar for their failures, Lone Wolf couldn't see all of them. And so, among them, you do have Darklord Zagarna, even if not mentioned. As well as the other Darklords that Lone Wolf didn't know personally (considering Claws of Helgedad is not canon in the main continuity). All were judged supreme failures by Naar and punished the same way - this is the fate of the champions of Darkness who don't succeed in their conquests. You can think about all the major servants of the God Naar slain by Lone Wolf - they are here, somewhere in the Plain of Despair, suffering terrible tortures. Cadak was a notable exception, his soul being sold and bound to the Lords of Decay."
