A fist-sized ball of iron crafted into the shape of a human skull. This evil artefact turns into a grey gas when destroyed.
Acquisition[]
Grand Master can acquire this item in Voyage of the Moonstone if he doesn't have Kai-alchemy. Early in the adventure, the Pride of Sommerlund sails past Kita Cove, which had been destroyed several years earlier during the events of The Skull of Agarash. If Grand Master does not have Kai-alchemy, he is given the option of leading an exploration party to the Cove, where he finds the Iron Skull. On the other hand, Kai-alchemy will warn Grand Master that the figures he can see in Kita Cove from offshore are wholly evil, and the option to explore is not available.
Loss[]
There are two ways for Grand Master to lose the Iron Skull. The first way is to sell it to Rhous, a journeyman to the Magicians’ Guild of Nikesa. In this case, Rhous pays Grand Master 10 gold crowns. The second way is at a village on the border between Vassagonia and Dessi. A Vakeros elder with a magical staff will detect the Iron Skull, and demand it because it is evil. If Grand Master gives the elder the Iron Skull, the elder destroys it and divines that Grand Master did not know that the Iron Skull is evil. In this case the villagers are friendly and help Grand Master on his quest. If Grand Master refuses, the elder attacks psychically, after which Grand Master flees the village.
