Jegdazok is a Darklands realm encompassing the islands of Dejkaata.

Etymology[]

Jegdazok may be translated from Giak as "jeg" (take) + "daz" (left) + "ok" (I/me).

History[]

Jegdazok is a broken realm with few resources, consisting of the islands of the Dejkaata. It was originally ruled by Darklord Dakushna shortly after the arrival of the Darklords on Magnamund. During his rule, Dakushna repelled an invasion of Greater Ice Demons and their mutated hordes from Kalte. Archlord Vashna established the North Army, led by Dakushna, to protect against this invasion. However, no such invasion came, and Dakushna instead began to explore Kalte. Their first contact led to the Ice Demons becoming allies of the Darklords, fighting in wars such as the Ice Wars against Durenor.[1]

As a reward, Archlord Vashna tasked Dakushna to negotiate with the Drakkarim, replacing Gnaag.[2] Dakushna relocated south to Nyvoz, and Cape Dakushna, where Dakushna first arrived in Kalte, was named in his honour. Jegdazok was subsequently ruled by the Archlord as a military province.[1]

Geography[]

Jegdazok encompasses the vast majority of the icy northern lands of the Darklands. It is a huge broken land of islands, with few resources. Summers bring thawing ice, but also hordes of mutated mosquitoes, feasting on the backs of soldiers who patrol the land. The southern border spans multiple mountain ranges from Dajdorkriitzaga to the east to Danakritzaga to the west. Only a few passes through exist, the main one being the main fortress of Dugazozak, at the bottom of the Gourjez, the deepest fjord on the continent. From here, one trail leads to Helgedad via Aztaradara, and the other to Gournen and Gourzaa skirting the cursed Amazkononim Forest.[1]

Politics[]

Jegdazok was formerly ruled by Darklord Dakushna. After he left for Nyvoz, the domain was ruled as a military realm under the control of successive Archlords.[1]

During the rule of Archlord Zagarna, day-to-day control was run by Toghor, a Drakkar Ligaoknar under the command of Zagarna.[1]
