Kagorst is a Darklands fortress-city in Nyvoz, formerly ruled by Darklord Dakushna.
History[]
Centuries before MS 5000, Darklord Dakushna was successful in swaying the Ice Demons of Kalte to become the allies of the Darklords. Impressed, Archlord Vashna sent Dakushna to negotiate with the Drakkarim, a task that Gnaag had failed in. Dakushna ordered swamp Giak slaves rebuild the city of Kagorst to be on par with those in the Darklands, and since MS 3192, Dakushna has ruled Nyvoz (where Kagorst is located) and Ghatan. The Drakkarim feared Dakushna, seen as the most treacherous Darklord, and Dakushna also controlled the mint of Kagorst, where Kika was minted.[1]
Not much is known about Kagorst, after Dakushna's death in MS 5070.
Design[]
In the first edition of The Darklands, Kagorst was a separate domain, ruled by Darklord Dakushna. The fortress of Akagazad was also part of Kagorst.[2] In the second edition, this was retconned: Kagorst became a fortress of Nyvoz (still ruled by Dakushna),[1] and Akagazad became a fortress of Zaldir (ruled by Gnaag).[3]
