The Lone Wolf Club Newsletters are a series of newsletters written by Joe Dever to members of the Lone Wolf Club. The newsletters provide nuggets of information about the series, puzzles, news about upcoming releases, and various answers to submitted questions.
After Joe Dever's death, the newsletter was taken over by Holmgard Press.
History[]
The first newsletter was published in 1985, shortly after the publication of Flight from the Dark. At the end of each book, Joe Dever attached an advertisement to join the Lone Wolf Club, for the small price of a few pounds. Dever would mail a newsletter, around three or four times a year, to each member. The last known newsletter was number 30 (the 37th newsletter, including special editions released on dates such as Christmas), published in 1995, with the advent of the Internet.[1]
In November 2015, Project Aon consolidated all the 37 physical newsletters and published them in a digital format for free download, with some small edits for layout, image quality, data protection laws, and screen readers. Some typographical errors were not changed, such as Shasarak being called "Shazarak", to reflect the history of the series' development.[1]
After Joe Dever's death, Holmgard Press took over the Lone Wolf Club (with membership now free), with newsletters distributed digitally via email. However, one episode — 35 — was skipped for unknown reasons.[2] Episodes 31 and onwards (barring 35) were also published on the Lone Wolf Discord channel.
