A Moggador-kor-Kaggaz (Giak; English: Hammer of Fire) is a supernatural Warhammer imbued with the evil power of the Nengud-kor-Adez. Its power can be used by Grand Master, although if used in combat, it will cost Endurance points.
History[]
In Zekgazad, the forces of Vashna have learnt how to harness the power of the Nengud-kor-Adez beyond just using its heat as an energy source, such as Drakkarim blacksmiths using tools imbued with its power to forge weapons.[1]
Acquisition[]
If Grand Master explores the smithy after infiltrating Zekgazad, they will encounter Drakkarim blacksmiths. They will use Moggadorim-kor-Kaggaz during battle, which inflict triple damage on Grand Master (unless Cynxa is worn). However, after the battle, the sheer power of the Moggador-kor-Kaggaz destroys Grand Master's weapon, unless the weapon used was a Special Item. Grand Master then has the option of taking this weapon for themselves.
Usage[]
The Moggador-kor-Kaggaz is a weapon-like Special Item and a Warhammer. It can be wielded as a normal Warhammer, but Grand Master has the option to release its innate power with their psychic skills, allowing them to triple the damage for one fight, at the expense of 5 Endurance points (3 if wearing Cynxa). Its destructive power can be sometimes used outside of combat as well. However, there is only enough energy to be used 5 more times (5 different combats and/or out-of-combat actions). It can be recharged in combat against Kaggazutaagon — in The Dusk of Eternal Night, during the Battle of the Ruanon Homelands, 2 charges can be added to it after an unavoidable encounter with a pack of Kaggazutaagon.[2][3] If no charges remain, it will act as a normal Warhammer.
Outside of combat, the destructive power of the Moggador-kor-Kaggaz can be used to destroy things (as long as it at least one charge remaining), often sharing its uses with Magnara and the Andarin Warhammer.
- Dead in the Deep: Any of these three weapons can be used to attempt to destroy the crystals protecting a Shadow Gate from the Nengud-kor-Adez.[4]
- The Dusk of Eternal Night:
- In the Crypt of Agarash, if Grand Master becomes trapped in a gland of gastic acid[5] or a pulmonary alveolus,[6] any of these three weapons can be used to shatter the walls, although it comes at a significant cost of Endurance.
- In Otavai, Grand Master may be told by Mokitayo about a secret passage to infiltrate the Sejanoz's palace. The entrance is sealed by thick toa wood and iron railing. The Moggador-kor-Kaggaz, Andarin Warhammer or Power Mace may be used to break the seal, although it will make a noise, which may attract unwanted attention.[7]
Similar weapons[]
Despite the name, the Ogg-kor-kaggaz is only tangentially-related to the Moggador-kor-Kaggaz. Both draw their power from the energies that made the Nengud-kor-Adez (the Ogg-kor-kaggaz predates the Nengud-kor-Adez), but the Moggador-kor-Kaggaz is a far more primitive weapon that needs recharging with the powers of the Nengud-kor-Adez. Helshezag also falls into the same category as the Ogg-kor-kaggaz, that of a powerful enchanted weapon imbued with the power of the Nengud-kor-Adez.[8] In the gamebooks, Helshezag is also similar — a powerful weapon that can be wielded by the player, but costs Endurance points to use.

Vincent Lazzari on Discord on the origins of the Ogg-kor-kaggaz."You'll be interested to learn that Baron Shinzar long ago stole from the Guild of Thieves of Helgor the Ogg-kor-kaggaz, a Darkland weapon rumored to have belonged to one of the Drakkarim Warlords who signed the Treaty of Darke in MS 3150 and received this weapon from Darklord Vashna himself. The Ogg-kor-Kaggaz thus predates Helgedad itself (initiated in MS 3262!), but it doesn't mean it wasn't forged in the Nengud-kor-Adez - the dark energies of the Lake of Blood were indeed used to make it, empowering it to the point this terrifying weapon increases its owner lifespan (Shinzar being more than 400 years old when he is defeated)."
