The New Age of War is an era that saw the world plunged into a planet-wide war between the forces of Light and Darkness. It began in MS 5100 with the Drakkarim invasion of Lencia in MS 5100, with both Archlord Vashna and Demonlord Agarash returning to Magnamund, as well as the promotion of a new Kai Supreme Master, Lorn Commander.

Beyond time itself, Ishir, Goddess of Light, and Naar, God of Darkness, were locked in a war to conquer the entire known universe. As worlds fell to either side, Magnamund became the final world to be conquered, with the victor taking all. With the Truce of the Gods, neither side was able to intervene directly on Magnamund, but were able to subtly bend this Truce, Naar blatantly more so. For millennia, the Gods of Light and Darkness sent their champions to Magnamund to fight: The Dragons fought with the False Dragons, Agarash fought the Elder Magi, and the Darklords fought the Freelands and the Order of the Kai.
In MS 5070, during the events of The Masters of Darkness, Lone Wolf, a Kai Lord, defeated the Darklords, Naar's latest champions. In doing so, Lone Wolf ended the Darklands War and beginning a new age of relative peace, where he was able to grow the Order of the Kai to new heights. By MS 5100, the Order of the Kai had spread to the Isle of Lorn, where Lone Wolf's gifted protégé, Lorn Commander, took command. However, leading up to MS 5100, during the events of The Storms of Chai, multiple outbreaks of evil began to appear, as if to overwhelm the forces of Light before they were ready.[1]
The New Age of War officially[2] began in MS 5100, with the Drakkarim invasion of Lencia. In this battle, King Telnac of Lencia was killed and Warmarshal Ranghor claimed the throne of Lencia. The war escalated dramatically in MS 5102, with the rebirth of Archlord Vashna during the events of Dead in the Deep, and further in MS 5103, when Demonlord Agarash was brought back from the Pit of Eternal Pain during the events of The Dusk of Eternal Night. The return of Naar's two greatest champions of Evil was the subject of a prophecy, Koura-tas-naar (Sons of the Dark), and it was said that when Koura-tas-naar were reborn, Tasa-tas-Dophiem, War of the Gods, would begin, in a War to determine the fate of the world, and all worlds.[3]
Participants[]

The participants of the New Age of War are broadly divided into the forces of Light and Darkness.
The forces of Light are broadly divided into those in Northern Magnamund, and those in Southern Magnamund, with limited action crossing the Tentarias (with Lencia a notable exception).
The forces of Darkness are broadly divided into multiple groups:
- The forces of Demonlord Agarash, largely operating in Southern Magnamund, but with the Agarashi in Northern Magnamund heeding his call
- The forces of Archlord Vashna, largely operating in Northern Magnamund, but with the Nengud-kor-Adez appearing in parts of Southern Magnamund, converting Agarashi to Kaggazutaagon
- The Cener Druids, mostly operating in central Magnamund, around Ruel
- The Grûma Eÿin, largely operating from the seas, all over Magnamund
However, not all the forces of Darkness operated as one, with isolated incidents of Darkness-on-Darkness infighting.
Additionally, before the return of both Vashna and Agarash, several splinter groups operated of their own accord, with several of them devoted to the return of their masters Vashna and Agarash.
