Northern Lencia, formerly Nyras, is a region of Lencia, on the opposite side of the Tentarias. It has been contested by the Lencians and Drakkarim since MS 2606, when it was conquered and renamed "Nyras".

Historically, Northern Lencia was part of Lencia. During the Darkdawn War of MS 2606–2610, Northern Lencia was conquered, and renamed Nyras. Many campaigns were mounted to recover Northern Lencia, but were not successful until MS 5076.[1] During this period, the Drakkarim swore fealty to the Darklords, and the capital was renamed "Darke" in the Darklords' honour.[2]

Northern Lencia returned to existence in MS 5076, during the events of The Darke Crusade. Warlord Magnaarn found the Nyras Sceptre, and was seeking the lost Doomstone of Darke, to combine the two and recreate Darklord Dakushna's legendary weapon. Lone Wolf attempted to stop Magnaarn from recovering the Doomstone, but was too late, and was sealed under rock whilst Magnaarn began his reconquest of Nyras. Lone Wolf managed to dig himself out of the rubble after fifteen days, and pursued Magnaarn to Darke, where the two fought, and Magnaarn was slain. This resulted in the destruction of the Nyras Sceptre and the routing of Magnaarn's men. Consequently, Lencia pushed into Nyras, and reconquered Northern Lencia once again.[3]

In MS 5090, Warmarshall Ranghor forced the Lencians out of Northern Lencia. A civil war erupted between the Drakkarim, between Ranghor and Warlord Ghangrim. In MS 5101, Lencia invaded Nyras once again, and conquered Darke. King Sarnac IV renamed the city back to "Gamir" once again, its ancient title.[4]

In MS 5102, an Agarashi horde under the control of Swamplord Vag'kroag began to prepare an invasion of Northern Lencia. However, agents of Shoongath, a fellow Child of Agarash, captured Vag'kroag, to be used to rebuild their master, Agarash the Damned, after his return from the Pit of Eternal Pain.[5][6] Without a leader, the Agarashi horde dispersed.[7]
