The Helotry of Nyvoz, commonly known as Nyvoz, is a Drakkarim country in Northern Magnamund.
History[]
During the Golden Age of the Shianti, the lands north of the Hellswamp became a refuge for bandits and outlaws. Eventually, these criminals banded together and formed the Helotry of Nyvoz, a Drakkarim country. When the Darklords arrived in MS 3072, they invaded Nyvoz, destroying Kagorst, and forcing its denizens to flee to the Hammerlands. During this war, the wastelands of Northern Nyvoz were conquered, and became part of Zutzinozaga.[4] Eventually, the Drakkarim and the Darklords signed the Treaty of Darke, binding the former to the latter's allegiance. Kagorst was then rebuilt as a city-fortress by Giak slaves.[5]
Kagorst later became one of the seats of power of Darkord Dakushna, after he left Jegdazok.[6]
In MS 5090, Warmarshal Ranghor of Nyras forced out the Lencians, who had reconquered Nyras. A civil war erupted amongst the Drakkarim nations, and in MS 5098, Warlord Gangrim, one of his challengers, was pushed back to Nyvoz. In MS 5101, King Sarnac IV of Lencia remounted an invasion, reconquered Nyras once again (renaming it Northern Lencia), and razed Kagorst.[7] However, the Lencians were forced out a year later, during the autumn of MS 5102, when the Nengud-kor-Adez erupted in the ruins of Kagorst, where it was recaptured by the Orgar Dej (Eastern Army) of the Drakkarim. They were based in Tanoz, which became the de facto capital of Nyvoz.[2]
Geography[]
Nyras is located north of the Hellswamp, south of Zutzinozaga, and west of Ghatan. To the east lies its fellow Drakkarim nations of Zaldir and Nyras.
It is a country full of forests, with the Nogod Forest towards its east, and the River Helnen runs through the middle of the country. Its southern border is demarcated by Dakushna's Channel in the Hellswamp.
Politics[]
Nyras was a helotry. It was formerly ruled by Darklord Dakushna, who was ruler until his death in MS 5070. It is unknown who ruled Nyras after that point, although it appears to have been a stronghold of Warlord Gangrim in MS 5098.[7]
