Serocca is the ruler of Vhozada in the Daziarn. She once rebuffed the romantic advances of Sinay, who struck a bargain with the Chaos-master to make her fall in love with him, so their realms could be united. He did so, but on their wedding day, demanded half of his realm, which Sinay refused. This caused the Chaos-master to mutilate Sinay and imprison Serocca in a tower. Serocca later helped Lone Wolf retrieve the Lorestones after they had fallen into the Daziarn. Along his journey, he slew the Chaos-master, ending her imprisonment and Sinay's mutilation. She can later speak with Grand Master, depending on the actions of the player, in a place where the boundaries between the Planes of Existence had been shattered.

Appearance[]

Illustrations of the Serocca are available in The Prisoners of Time, §58, and Dead in the Deep, §15.

Serocca is a beautiful woman with feline characteristics, and bears an aura that is powerful and confident.[1][2]

Biography[]

Serocca is the ruler of Vhozada in the Daziarn. Long ago, Sinay, ruler of Guakor, attempted to win her love and unify their realms, but she rebuffed him. Sinay, stung, made a bargain with the Chaos-master to make her fall in love with him, and she did. However, on their wedding day, the Chaos-master demanded half of Sinay's realm in exchange, which Sinay refused. The Chaos-master then mutilated Sinay and imprisoned Serocca in response.[3]

Much later, Lone Wolf fell into the Daziarn through a Shadow Gate, along with the Lorestones he was attempting to retrieve. The Lorestones landed in her realm of Vhozada. Sinay, now called the Beholder, was the first ruler to meet Lone Wolf, and he helped him locate the Lorestones. He then sent Lone Wolf through a Dimension Door to Vhozada, suggesting that he seek out Serocca and her help. Lone Wolf did so, travelling to the city of Thas and gaining an audience with Serocca. Serocca greets Lone Wolf by name, even though they had never met before. If Lone Wolf has the discipline of Psi-Screen and is ranked Tutelary or higher, he senses that Serocca is imprisoned in a cage of psychic energy that will destroy her if she attempts to leave her room.[4] Serocca gave Lone Wolf the precise location of each of the Lorestones, but also the location of a Shadow Gate in Haagadar that could be used to return Lone Wolf to Magnamund.[5] She also arranged for her Ookor to accompany him there.[6]

During his journey, Lone Wolf slew the Chaos-master, causing the curses on her and Sinay to be lifted.[7]

In MS 5102, the Nadziranim were experimenting with the Planes of Existence in Zekgazad, and broke the boundary between the worlds in the Chaos Prison. During the events of Dead in the Deep, Grand Master, on a quest to rescue Steel Hand and foil the plans of Darkness in Zekgazad, stumbled across this weak point, and encountered Serocca and Sinay. The two explained to Grand Master that despite Lone Wolf's victory over the Chaos-master, he had begun to reform in the Daziarn, and had started to move into Magnamund, due to the forces of Darkness summoning him there. They warned Grand Master of the dangers of the Chaos-master, and Serocca asked Grand Master to tell Lone Wolf that should he need their help, the Beholder and his Yoacor would be at his service; all he needed to do was open the Shadow Gate of the Sandai.[8]

In the gamebooks[]

Serocca is encountered by Lone Wolf in The Prisoners of Time, where she tells him the precise location of each of the remaining Lorestones also sent through the Shadow Gate, and the location of a Shadow Gate that can be used to transport him back home.

She can later encountered by Grand Master in Dead in the Deep, if Grand Master resists the attempts of the Chaos-seed to pull them away. Together with the Beholder, they will explain to Grand Master about events in the Daziarn after the death of the Chaos-master and departure of Lone Wolf, and she will offer the help of the Beholder and his Yoacor in the future.[9][2]
