The Isle of Sheasu, or simply Sheasu, is the main human settlement of the Kelderwastes. It is considered the capital of the country,[2] although the port of Mydnight is considered to be Sheasu's capital.[1]

History[]

The Isle of Sheasu was settled almost by accident when descendants of aquatic Agarashi attacked fishing vessels, marooning and trapping survivors on the island. The island had enough resources to sustain the survivors, who rebuilt their lives on the island. Over time, more and more shipwrecked survivors joined Sheasu.[1]

Opposite Sheasu, on the mainland, lies the Great Forest of Kelderwood, rife with vicious beasts and descendants of other land-based Agarashi. These Agarashi occasionally attempt to raid Sheasu, but have been unable to make much headway besides induce panic in Mydnight.[1]

Around MS 5083, Prince Karvas of Siyen exiled himself in Sheasu. In MS 5083, his father, King Oridon, was assassinated, and Grand Master was dispatched to find him and restore him to the throne of Siyen, before Baron Sadanzo, rumoured to be an agent of Naar, could claim it.[4]

In MS 5102, earthquakes shook the Great Forest of Kelderwood, sending hordes of frenzied Agarashi to attack the Isle of Sheasu and Vaduzhan.[5]

Geography[]

The Isle of Sheasu is located in the south-west of Southern Magnamund, off the coast of the Great Forest of Kelderwood. Around the Isle's north side are many smaller islands, full of bays and inlets.[6]

Politics[]

The Isle of Sheasu was ruled by Count Laj of Sheasu in MS 5050.[2]

List of known rulers of Sheasu[]

  • Countess Jora of Sheasu (MS 5000)[1]
  • Count Laj of Sheasu (MS 5050)[2]

Economy[]

Sheasu's resources include shipbuilding, fish, and agriculture.[2] Its currency is the Ren[2] and the Torq.[3][1]

Demographics[]

The human population lives on Sheasu, and was 2,000 as of MS 5050.[2]

In the gamebooks[]

Sheasu is visited in Mydnight's Hero. In the first arc of this gamebook, the player, as Grand Master, journeys to the town of Mydnight in order to find Prince Karvas, in exile, with the goal of putting him back on his throne before a suspected agent of Naar, Baron Sadanzo, can claim it.
