The Spawnstone Citadel is a tower that leads to the largest spawning pools within Helgedad.

The Spawnstone Citadel is a contorted tower made of grey stone, located in the heart of the Imperial Laboratory Ward in Helgedad.[1]
History[]
Under the rule of Archlord Vashna, his Nadziranim bred the first Mountain Giaks, Zlanbeasts, Kraan, Doomwolves, Ashradon and many other Darkspawn. As of MS 5000, the Breedmasters of Archlord Zagarna continue to use the Spawning Pits, creating new Darkspawn as well as the powerful Imperial Sector Guards. It was guarded by 50 Vladoka and supervised by Thulrash, a Nadziran of Zagarna.[1]
It is unknown what happened to the Spawnstone Citadel after the demise of the Darklords, in MS 5070.
Design[]

In the first edition of The Darklands, the Spawnstone Citadel was instead the capital of Galhiak, which was retconned out of existence in the second edition. Its overall usage is similar, although the Galhiak version was surrounded by 21 Stone Cauldrons, which sat on a ring of otherworldly grey stone called the Spawnstone. It was this stone that contained the black art of creation, and powered each Cauldron. It was also fed by the power of the Nengud-kor-Adez.[2]
