The Stornlands is a vast area of kingdoms and cities, named after the strong river Storn that runs through the area. Kingdoms include Varetta, Eldenora, and Lyris.

Although some have likened this area to resemble the Midlands or the Appalachians of the actual United States of America (especially given the location of the Ceners to the south in Salony), the history and geopolitcal landscape is reminiscent of France or Italy during the Early Renaissance, when both nations were split into several warring city-states whose armies heavily relied on the use of mercenaries. The very mention of a superior intellectual centre in the form of the Halls of Learning in Varetta also seems to suggest this as well.
