Tay Solobo (Sommlending; English: The Sommer Isles) is an archipelago located on the other side of the world of Northern Magnamund and Southern Magnamund, separated from it by the Northern Void. It was the former home of the Sommlending before the Great Voyage took them to present-day Sommerlund.
History[]
Tay Solobo's location meant its natives were spared much of the strife of Northern and Southern Magnamund. The natives of Tay Solobo were divided between the Sommlending and the tribes Grûma Eÿin, divided amongst six distinct groups of islands. There was a strong rivalry between each group, as well as a common enemy in the form of the dark hosts of Grûma Eÿin.[1]
In MS 3281, the Sommlending tribes were unified by Hetman Skarn of Solanav Eÿ, becoming the first King of the Sommlending. The God Kai appeared before Skarn, and told him that the Sommlending had been chosen as champions, and he had to unify his people in order to undertake a great voyage to a new land, to fight against a rising evil. To this end, he was bestowed wisdom and charisma. With these blessings, Skarn unified his people, and was unopposed as king. His successors, Kings Tor I and Tor II, continued his undertaking, and the Sommlending became even stronger. During the reign of King Tor II's successor, King Kian, the Goddess Ishir appeared to him and bestowed him with the gifts of health and intelligence; the latter of which gave the Sommlending advanced knowledge of shipbuilding, allowing them to construct ships made of oak from Ekin Islöifr that could withstand the journey across the Northern Void.[1]
The Great Voyage began in MS 3433, upon which Tay Solobo was abandoned by the the Sommlending. The difficult journey ended in MS 3434, when the Sommlending landed in what is now known as Anskaven, and began a new age of struggle against the Darklords and other forces of evil.[1]

Location contradictions[]

In terms of latitude, Joe Dever intended for Tay Solobo to be located between the islands of Ljuk and Lof.[2] However, he later realised that this led to some undesirable properties about Magnamund. Dever also passed away before the contradictions could be taken care of, leaving it up to Holmgard Press to determine. As a result, Tay Solobo's actual location within Magnamund is not yet canonically-known.
