Darklord Unc (died MS 5058) was a Darklord and Lord of Aarnak.

Appearance[]

Unc had broad, gelatinous expanses of grey flesh and stubby arms. Unc had legs as thick as tree trunks, that jut out incongruously from a torso that resembles nothing more than a squat, blunted cone.[1]

Personality[]

Unc was an extremely slothful, slow-witted creature looked down on by the rest of the Darklords. His possession of Aarnak gave him much prestige and power, but this was largely wasted by the inept Darklord. However, Unc still possessed ambitions on the throne of Helgedad, unaware that allies, resources or ability were required for this pursuit.[1]

He fought with a Lightning Spear, a weapon designed for him by the Nadziranim.[1]

Biography[]

Unc arrived on Magnamund with his fellow Darklords in MS 3072. He was one of three Lords of Aarnak (Haakon, Zhanshal and himself), with Haakon as the most powerful of the three, and Zhanshal as the least. However, the ambitious Haakon spent most of his time engaging in political intrigue in Helgedad, giving Unc most of the power in practice. Unc, however, squandered this influence, spending most of his time watching gladiator battles between slaves in Aarnak and Helgedad, delegating control to the Slavemaster of Aarnak. Unc "replaced" each Slavemaster when they became too close to Haakon.[1][2]

After Haakon's fall, Unc challenged his fellow Darklords for the throne, using the resources of Aarnak, and was opposed by Ghurch. Gnaag convinced the other Darklords to give up their claims and elect a successor; Gnaag and Slûtar also put themselves up as candidates, but received no votes. The Darklords within Helgedad supported Ghurch, while the others supported Unc; Gnaag and Slûtar sat out the ensuing civil war to stay neutral. However, this was all orchestrated by Gnaag in secret: At the climax of the civil war, Gnaag destroyed both Ghurch and Unc in a devastating show of power, forcing the other Darklords to submit, and becoming Archlord himself.[1] His spirit was trapped and tortured in the Plain of Despair by Naar.[3]

"I can assure you that this specific scene in LW20, in the Plain of Despair, did not feature all the villains Lone Wolf canonically slew during his adventures. Simply because there are too many spirits who were specifically punished by Naar for their failures, Lone Wolf couldn't see all of them. And so, among them, you do have Darklord Zagarna, even if not mentioned. As well as the other Darklords that Lone Wolf didn't know personally (considering Claws of Helgedad is not canon in the main continuity). All were judged supreme failures by Naar and punished the same way - this is the fate of the champions of Darkness who don't succeed in their conquests. You can think about all the major servants of the God Naar slain by Lone Wolf - they are here, somewhere in the Plain of Despair, suffering terrible tortures. Cadak was a notable exception, his soul being sold and bound to the Lords of Decay."
